Supplies We Brought
PB and J Sandwiches
Introduction
At Serving Handz, our food drives are centered around preparing approximately 200 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to help those in need. Volunteers gather to work efficiently at different stations, where each person plays a key role in the process. One group spreads the peanut butter and jelly onto fresh slices of bread, while another carefully packs the sandwiches into bags. Once the sandwiches are prepared, we add chips and fruit, placing them all into brown bags for easy distribution. This hands-on approach ensures we provide nourishing meals, bringing our community together to make a meaningful difference.
Materials
For each drive, we use:
- 15 jars of peanut butter (16 oz each)
- 15 jars of jelly (16 oz each)
- 20 loaves of bread (20 slices per loaf)
- 5 boxes of chips (40 individual bags per box)
Process
Donations and Purchases:
- Our officer team collects monetary donations and uses these funds to purchase all required materials.
- We ensure all products are fresh and purchased in bulk for efficiency.
Preparation:
- Volunteers set up an assembly line to create the sandwiches.
- Peanut butter and jelly are spread evenly across the bread, maintaining consistent quality.
- Each sandwich is individually bagged and paired with a bag of chips.
Packaging and Distribution:
- Completed meals are carefully packaged into boxes.
- The meals are then delivered to local shelters or distributed to individuals in need.
Impact
Every food drive provides 200 meals to individuals facing food insecurity.
The process fosters a sense of teamwork and community involvement among volunteers.
Through these efforts, Serving Handz creates a direct, positive impact on the lives of those we serve.

Final Touch: Packing and Distribution
The filled brown bags are gently packed into sturdy, reusable cardboard boxes. Once ready, these boxes are distributed to local shelters or handed directly to individuals in need, ensuring the meals make it to those who need them most.
Making a Difference, One Meal at a Time
What sets Serving Handz apart is our unwavering dedication to creating a positive impact. Each volunteer not only contributes to a smooth and efficient process but also becomes part of a community-driven effort to fight hunger.
